Working at Heights Medical (Fit to Climb)

 

Working at Heights Medical Assessment are required to ensure workers are physically and medically fit to perform tasks at height safely, identify potential risks early, and meet legal or industry requirements.

 

Who requires a Working at Heights Medical?

 

  • Anyone working on scaffolds, ladders, rooftops, or elevated platforms

  • Roles in railways, telecoms, construction, and other height-related industries

 

What to expect when attending our clinic

 

Physical Examination

  • Vitals: Height, weight, blood pressure, pulse

  • Vision: Visual acuity & depth perception

  • Hearing: Ability to detect hazards & communicate

  • Musculoskeletal: Strength, flexibility, balance

  • Respiratory: Lung capacity & breathing efficiency

  • Cardiovascular: Heart function & blood pressure

 

Medical History Review

  • Including a questionnaire + review of past/current conditions that may affect safety.

 

Functional Testing

  • Grip strength

  • Aerobic fitness

  • Balance evaluation

 

Extra components available:

  • Cardiac risk (blood tests, ECG) for workers over 45yrs of age or those with cardiac risk factors

  • Drug & alcohol screening (if required)
